Projects

Our work is divided into three large projects that allow the sustainability of our commitment.

Conservation

We have voluntarily designated a specific area for conservation, «San Jeronimito», located between 2 protected natural areas, Laguna de Terminos in the State of Campeche, and Pantanos de Centla in the State of Tabasco. The 1,300 hectares of forest that compose it are home to hundreds of species of wild fauna and flora representative of the region, such as the Spider monkey (Ateles geoffroyi), Howler monkey (Alouatta pigra), White-tailed deer (Odocoileus virginianus) and the imposing feline, the Jaguar (Panthera onca); as well as a large number of wild flora, birds, reptiles and amphibians. Some of them endemic and others classified as protected or in danger, according to NOM 059, CITES and the UICN red list.

Reforestation and Sustainable Forestry

We are reforesting with native species suitable for the lowlands characteristic of the region, with special emphasis on the palo de tinto tree »(Haematoxilum campechanum).
The forest management of the jungle not only seeks the economic benefit of the holders of forest resources but also the permanence of these resources and allowing its use by the next generation.

Agroindustry

Hematoxylin is the main product obtained from the palo de tinto tree, a natural dye used in the pharmaceutical industry since the 18th century and in the textile industry since pre-Hispanic times, today it is presented as an alternative of natural origin to replace some highly pollutant dyes in industrial processes.
